WAHABIS or Salafi, Tableeghi, Najdi
This sect is one of the branches of
the Khawarij sect (Kharajites).
The founder of this sect is Mohammed
ibn Abdul Wahhab Najdi (may Allah’s Wrath be upon him), who had
unleashed a reign of terror and corruption in Arabia, where he massacred
thousands of Muslims, enslaving and torturing women and children.
His own brother said to him, “The
horn of Shaytan which the Prophet, may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon
him, referred to is you.”[Sawaa’iqul Ilahiya]
Here are just a few details about
the man who founded this devious sect, and is followed by ignorant people even
today:
• During his reign, his main attacks
were in the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah, where he killed numerous Ulema
(scholars) and completely destroyed many honourable graves of the Noble
Companions, Awliya and other blessed landmarks. All who visit the holy
lands today are witness to this destruction, where Islamic heritage and history
is barely evident due to this evil.
• He caused much tyranny and
corruption, just as mentioned in the Beloved Messenger’s prophecy regarding
Najd, today known as Riyadh.
Sayyidina Abdullah
ibn Umar narrated that the Beloved Messenger said, “O Allah! Bless our Syria
& Yemen!” Some people said, “Bless our Najd as well.” The Beloved Messenger
said again, “O Allah! Bless our Syria & Yemen!” The people again said,
“Bless our Najd as well.”
The Beloved
Messenger then replied, “In that place will be earthquakes & fitna
(tribulation), and from that place will rise the horn of Satan.”[Bukhari]
• Any gesture or act of love towards
the Beloved Messenger causes them to bellow cries of kufr, bid’ah, shirk.
They completely disregard the Hadith which mentions the importance of loving
the Beloved Messenger as a fundamental part of faith:
“None of you will
have faith till he loves me more than his father, his children and all
mankind.” [Bukhari, Book 2, Hadith no. 12]
• These cries of kufr, bid’ah,
shirk are even heard in the Harmain Sharfain i.e. Masjid al-Haram
and Masjid al-Nabawi. Such disrespect to the blessed lands completely
contradicts the respect and honour taught by the Companions.
They should remind themselves of
Sayyidina Umar ibn al-Khattab’s strictness regarding adab in the Masjid,
and in the presence of our Beloved Messenger. It is related in Bukhari that he
once heard two men raising their voices in Masjid al-Nabawi. He asked them, “Do
you realize where you are?” But before they could answer, he asked them, “Where
are you both from?” They replied they were from Ta’if. He said to them, “If you
had said that you were from Madinah, I would have given you both severe lashes
for raising your voices in the Masjid of Allah's Messenger.” [Bukhari]
Look at that utmost level of
respect, and then look at the complete disrespect of those shouting shirk,
shirk at the believers as they try to gain blessing in the House of Allah!
• They go to complete extremes when
trying to implement the Shari’ah, to the extent they make it a burden
for others to follow, and they make the religion a difficult matter when it is
not.
The Beloved Messenger said, “Religion is very easy and whoever overburdens himself
in his religion will not be able to continue in that way. So you should not be
extremists, but try to be near to perfection and receive the good tidings that
you will be rewarded; and gain strength by worshipping in the mornings, the
nights.” [Bukhari, Vol. 1, Book 2, Hadith no. 38]
And he also said, “Ruined are the extremists!” [Bukhari, Book 34,
Hadith no. 6450]
• Their beliefs show that they have
little or no fear of Almighty Allah, and that they will shamelessly show
disrespect towards Him and his Beloved Messenger. A few of their corrupt
beliefs are quoted under the Kharajite section of this page, so that our
fellow Muslim brothers and sisters may be wary of their false beliefs. Do not
be deceived by their attire, their huge beard and turbans, and prolonged sajda
(prostration). Guard your Imaan.
THE AHMADIYYAS/QADIANIS
Their Leader: Mirza Ghulam Ahmed
Mirza Ghulam Ahmed (may Allah’s
Wrath be upon him) was born in Qadian in the Punjab province of India and
lived from 1835 to 1908. To summarise, here are they key points about his life:
• In 1882, he declared himself a Mujaddid
(reviver of faith). Never has a true Mujaddid claimed himself as one,
due to humility - so here we have an astonishing lie!
• In 1889, he claimed that he was
Imam Mahdi, despite the obvious fact that his genealogy does not match up to
this claim. The Beloved Messenger said, “The promised
Mahdi will be among my progeny, among the descendants of Fatima.” [Abu
Dawud, Vol. 2, page 207; Ibn Majah, Vol. 2, page 519]
• In 1889, he also claimed to be the
2nd arrival of Prophet Isa. This is an obviously absurd claim, and another
desperate attempt at fame and power.
• In 1901, he claimed he himself was
a Prophet (astagfirullah). Thus he sold his soul to Shaytan, and
entered the folds of Hell.
• He eventually died a wretched
& humiliating death on 26th May 1908 in Lahore, and was buried in Qadian.
About this, there are famous reports that he met his end on the lavatory in a
most vile manner; and Allah is the Best of those who do Justice!
The Beliefs of His Followers
It is a marvel to even believe that
such a man, whose ways were so clearly steeped in jahiliyya (ignorance),
actually has any followers. They call themselves Jamat-e-Ahmadiyya,
maintaining his doctrines and believing that he was a Prophet (astagfirullah).
This group is, without doubt,
considered kafir (non-Muslim) by the entire Muslim world, yet
surprisingly they still insist that they are within the folds of Islam. This is
despite the fact that they have denied the Kalima, the essence of faith;
which is to believe that Allah is the one and only God and Muhammad, upon
him be Allah’s eternal peace and blessings, is His last & final
Messenger.
There are approx 500,000 Ahmadiyyas
found especially in India, Pakistan, West Africa, North & South America and
Western Europe.
Their Corrupt Beliefs
• They have lauded their Mirza with
the same qualities given to our Beloved Prophet (astaghfirullah, may Allah
protect us from such treachery!)
• They claim he received revelation
exactly like the Qur’anic revelations.
• They claim his family are Ahle
Bayt, followers are Sahaba and wives are Ummuhatul Mu’mineen.
• They believe Jesus escaped
crucifixion, lived to the age of 120 and then was buried in Srinagar (Kashmir).
• They often replace the Blessed
Prophet's name in the Kalima with the name “Ahmed”, for Mirza Ghulam
Ahmed, and include his name in the Durood Sharif.
• Consider Qadian as one of the
holiest places.
THE SHIAS
Their main distinguishing feature is
that they show major disrespect to Companions who were not Sayyed
(related to the Beloved Messenger).
This disrespect is mostly aimed
towards the first two Caliphs of Islam, Sayyidina Abu Bakr Siddique, the best
friend of our Beloved Prophet, and Sayyidina Umar Farooq, whom our Beloved
Prophet named the 'Distinguisher between Right & Wrong’.
Sayyidina Anas said, “I love the
Prophet, Abu Bakr and Umar, and I hope that I will be with them because of my
love for them though my deeds are not similar to theirs.” [Bukhari,
Vol. 5, Book 57, Hadith no. 37]
Their hatred towards the two great
Caliphs is due to their belief that Sayyidina Ali should have been the first
successor of the Beloved Messenger, and this bitter enmity has not died down
since the days of the Companions. This is despite the fact that the four
Caliphs of Islam were the closest of friends, brothers in faith, and united
with complete solidarity.
Imam Nabahani narrates a report that
Sayyidina Ali sat by Sayyidina Abu Bakr’s deathbed after his demise, and said
in his honour that he was the “most excellent of the Sahaba”, “greatest of them
in his rank”, “most noble of them in his station”, and “most honoured
among them in the Messenger's Court.” [al-Sharaf al-Mu'abbad, page 193]
Muslims should also beware of the
fabricated stories and false reports they have spun against Sayyidina Abu Bakr
Siddique and Sayyidina Umar Farooq; such lies can endanger a person’s faith
greatly.
There was no animosity between the
four Caliphs, or between them and the Ahle Bayt. They were sincere friends,
bound in their love for the Beloved Messenger, thus it would be a great
fabrication to assume and lie, saying there was enmity between these great
Companions. May Allah protect us from such bitter corruption and hate!
This hatred and disrespect does not
stop there; much of their abuse and slander is also directed to the beloved
mother of believers, Sayyida Aisha Siddiqa, whom Allah Himself defends in the
Qur’an [24:11], as well as many other honourable Companions whom whom
the Beloved Messenger praised and showed his love towards during his blessed
life.
Regarding their claimed love for
Sayyidina Ali, Imam Ahmad reports the following Hadith.
Sayyidina Ali
relates: “The Beloved Messenger said the following words about me, ‘You have a
special attachment with Isa (Jesus). The Jews hated him so bitterly that they
accused his pure mother Lady Maryam. On the other hand, the Christians went
over the limitations in his love, to such an extent that they called him the
son of Allah. Beware, since there will also be two groups in your case; one
will be those who, in their love for you, will hold you in such esteem that
they will transgress the limitations, and the other group will be those who
will have dislike for you, and they shall target you with their accusations.”
From these words of the Beloved
Messenger, it is evident that he was warning of the Kharijis and Shia.
About the Shia, Imam Ahmad
Raza Khan labels them as apostates (murtadd) and therefore, completely
out of the folds of Islam.
KHARAJITES & DEOBANDIS
This group is divided into 20
branches.
Their beliefs are contrary to that
of the Shia as they hate and make false allegations against Sayyidina
Ali, as stated in the Hadith above.
Wahabis are considered as one of the offshoots of the Kharajites,
but the main branch of the Kharajite group is that of the Deobandis.
Some beliefs of this group are (astaghfirullah):
• Allah can speak a lie. [Fatawah
Rashidiyah, Rashid Ahmed Gangohi]
• Allah does not know beforehand
what His creations would do. He only comes to after they have done something. [Bulghatul
Hairaan, Hussain Ali]
• Shaytan and the Angel of Death are
more knowledgeable than the Prophet. [Baraaheen-e-Qaati’ah, Khalil Ahmed
Ambethvi]
• The amount of Knowledge of the
Unseen possessed by the Prophet, has also been given to animals, lunatics and
children (may Allah’s Wrath be upon those who invent such utterances!) [Hifzul
Iman, by Ashraf Ali Thanvi]
• The Prophet is not the only Rahmatullil
Alameen (mercy to the worlds). [Fatawa Rashidiyah, Rashid Ahmed Gangohi]
• It is possible for another Prophet
to appear after the Holy Prophet. [Tahzeerun Naas, Qasim Nanotvi]
• The Holy Prophet learned the Urdu
language from the Ulema of Deoband. [Baraaheen-e-Qaati’ah, Khalil Ahmed
Ambhetvi]
Believing in any of the
above-mentioned beliefs makes one a hypocrite (munafiq).
Any person who disrespects Almighty
Allah and our Beloved Messenger, claims that they are a Prophet/Imam Mahdi,
believes that disrespecting any of the Companions is permissible etc. is a Kafir,
and completely out of the folds of Islam. Such a person is punishable, in some
cases by death, in the eyes of the Shari’ah Law.
We should not perform Salah
or associate with such people as it can harm our Imaan.
Please guard your faith against the
corruption amongst the Ummah today. Hold fast to the righteous scholars,
the Ulema-e-Haqq, of the Ahle Sunnah wal Jamaat. You will
recognize them by their Love for the Beloved Messenger, which guards them,
keeps their faces enlightened and their words truthful.
They are those who encourage the
ways of the Salaf i.e. seeking through Tawassul, celebrating the
Beloved Messenger’s birth or Milad, proclaiming the Salat-o-Salam upon
him and other such acts of devotion to the one chosen by Allah.
Dear brother or sister,
your aqeeda (belief) is your greatest wealth. It will safeguard you in
times of need, so long as you protect and nurture it throughout your life. Love
of the Beloved Messenger will ensure your aqeeda is safe from the
dangers of corruption, so honour it, always. And may Allah keep you steadfast
upon the siraat al-mustaqeem (Straight Path). Ameen.
We ask forgiveness from
Almighty Allah for reproducing the evil utterances of the misguided ones in
this article, although our sole purpose and intention is to warn our fellow
believers about the corruption amongst the Ummah today.
